  • Dr. Navin G. Ahuja

    Dr. Navin G. Ahuja brings nearly two decades of extensive experience in the international sale of goods and manufacturing to his current role as a mediator and arbitrator at Mediation Chambers. He holds a law degree, a Master’s specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and a Doctorate focused on International Dispute Resolution.

    As an accomplished author, Navin wrote “Taming the Guerrilla in International Commercial Arbitration: Levelling the Playing Field”, which has received acclaim from leading academics and practitioners in the field. He actively contributes to the discourse in alternative dispute resolution as a member of the editorial board for the International Arbitration Law Review and through numerous guest lectures and publications on mooting, ADR, and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

    Moreover, he has successfully guided aspiring mediators – including lawyers, law students, and professionals from diverse fields – through the accreditation process.

    Navin’s commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by his role as a judge in various ADR moots and his success in coaching teams to achieve outstanding results.

  • Evanthia Kasiora

    Evanthia is an Associate in the international arbitration practice of White & Case in Paris. She holds an LLB and LLM in Civil Procedural Law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an LLM in International Business Law from the London School of Economics. Prior to relocating to Paris, Evanthia trained and worked in litigation and arbitration in Greece and the UK. She is qualified in Greece and registered as an EU lawyer with the Paris Bar.

    Evanthia participated in the Vis Moot in 2017-2018 and has since been actively involved as a coach and arbitrator. She has been involved with the MAA since 2021, first leading the MAA’s Mentor-Mentee Programme (2021-2023) and then as a member of the Executive Board since 2023.

  • Fernanda Nemr

    Fernanda Nemr is a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Arbitration practice of Muriel Advogados in São Paulo. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of São Paulo and is specialized in Energy Law by the Brazilian Institute of Energy Law. She was a Visiting Foreign Lawyer at the International Arbitration practice at WilmerHale in London.

    Fernanda participated in the Vis Moot in 2019 and 2020 and was actively involved as a coach until 2023. She also participated in other domestic and international moot court competitions and is one of the co-founders of the Brazilian Arbitration and Technology Moot (CoDiTech Moot), as well as a member of the organization committee of the Brazilian Arbitration Moot. Fernanda was Chair of Events (Vienna) for the MAA from 2023 to 2025 and was previously a Regional Representative.

  • Jessica Rado

    Jessica Rado is a litigation attorney based in New York and holds an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution from Fordham University School of Law. In addition to her work as counsel, she is currently serving as Alumni Advisor at Fordham Law School, where she lectures on international commercial arbitration and international sales law and coaches the students taking part in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

    As a very active member of the international arbitration community, Jessica is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is the creator and moderator of the webinar series “1,000 Paths to a Career in Arbitration” which seeks to provide guidance and inspiration to young practitioners. Jessica is currently serving her first term as Vice President of the Moot Alumni Association, and previously served as Administrative Editor of the Vindobona Journal from 2023 to 2025.

  • Dr. Christian Johannes Wahnschaffe

    Dr Christian Johannes Wahnschaffe works with HANEFELD, an international dispute resolution boutique law firm with offices in Hamburg and Paris. Admitted to the German Bar, he acts as counsel in a variety of arbitration and litigation matters and as a tribunal secretary.

    Prior to joining HANEFELD, Johannes obtained a doctorate in law in the field of institutional arbitration and served as Director of the Karina and Erich Schumann Center for Advanced International Legal Studies at the University of Münster, where he also lectures on International Dispute Resolution. His published research focuses on investment and commercial arbitration, as well as international sales law and contract law.

    Johannes is an alumnus of the University of Münster and The Hague Academy of International Law and completed his legal clerkship with stages, inter alia, at the Permanent Court of Arbitration.

    He serves as Vice President of the Moot Alumni Association and has coached several teams for the Willem C. Vis Moot over the past years.

  • Alice Wang

    Alice specialises in international arbitration, handling an array of cross-border disputes. She possesses extensive experience in advising on large-scale infrastructure and energy projects across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and South America. Alice adeptly represents parties in arbitration proceedings under the auspices of major arbitral institutions and offers expert guidance and representation in pre-arbitration dispute resolutions.

  • Wenru Rui

    Ms. Wenru Rui is a Law and Business Operation Specialist at the transnational electronic design company Altium. She graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law with a masters degree. Wenru is a former mootie, having participated in the 26th Vis Moot and several Vis Pre-Moots in China. She was inspired by the spirit of the Moot, she continued to support the Moot by coaching and organizing moot competitions. She was a member of the Organizing Committee of the Vis Pre-Moot in Shanghai and promoted the organization of the competition.

    She has interned in arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce and the Shanghai Arbitration Commission. She accumulated a lot of experience about the organization of legal seminars, training and conferences. She has been a member of the MAA’s China Project Team for the last 3 years.

  • Haowen (Daisy) Chen

    Haowen (Daisy) Chen is an associate at Global Law Office. Admitted in China and New York State (USA), she specializes in cross-border commercial arbitration and litigation. Daisy represents prominent domestic and international clients in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings. Her extensive courtroom experience encompasses proceedings before all levels of the Chinese judiciary, ranging from the Supreme People’s Court and various Higher People’s Courts and Intermediate People’s Courts, to specialized courts such as the Financial Courts and Maritime Courts. Furthermore, she regularly acts in arbitrations administered by leading global institutions, including CIETAC, SHIAC, SHAC, BAC, HKIAC, SIAC, and SCMA.

  • Qihao Wu

    Qihao Wu is currently pursuing a Juris Master degree at Renmin University of China, specializing in international law. She has actively participated in moot competitions, including the 30th Vis Moot, 20th Vis East Moot, and several pre-moots such as the 20th CIETAC Cup.

    Inspired by the spirit of Vis Moot, between 2023 and 2024, Qihao served as the student coach for her law school’s Vis Moot team. In 2024, Qihao enriched her practical knowledge by interning at the CIETAC Arbitration Court, where she gained experience in arbitration procedures and case management.

  • Božo Čović

    Božo works as a Compliance and Legal Office at an investment firm in Podgorica, Montenegro. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at the University of Montenegro, where he also completed his master studies in business law in 2023.

    Additionally, Božo was a Vis Moot participant at the 29th Vis Moot and coached the University of Montenegro team for three years. He is a member of the MAA Core Team since 2024.

  • Lukas Petschning

    Lukas participated in the 29th Vis Moot and has been a member of the MAA ever since. He is currently a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of European, International and Comparative Law of the University of Vienna, where he is pursuing a PhD in law. His research focuses on international arbitration, conflict of laws, and particularly on the intersection of the two subject areas. Since 2024, Lukas has been coaching the team of the University of Vienna for the Vis Moot and Vis East.

  • Mick Henry Wiegenstein

    Born and raised in the United States, I began my academic career with a bachelor’s degree in German history and politics. Upon graduation, I moved to Germany in 2016 to begin studying law at the University of Heidelberg. Through this experience, I elected to pursue a master’s degree in Political, Economic and Legal Philosophy at the University of Graz.

    In Graz, my interest in international arbitration quickly developed as I sought a method for producing binding international decisions on questions typically associated with domestic civil law. It was through this interest that I became involved in the Vis Moot, with a focus on procedural issues. The Moot’s spirit of fostering international and cross-cultural exchange is close to my heart, and it is a pleasure and an honor to aid the MAA with ensuring that the international character of the Vis Moot is compliant with Austrian law.

  • Misra Yalcin

    Mısra Yalçın is a lawyer admitted to the Istanbul Bar with experience in domestic and international commercial disputes. She holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law (ICAL) at Stockholm University and currently works as a Research Assistant for Kluwer Arbitration. She is a member of the MAA Core Team since 2021.

  • Sanjana Sachdev

    Sanjana Sachdev is an Indian-qualified lawyer with experience in both commercial litigation and arbitration (domestic and international). She is currently a part of the International Arbitration team at Clyde & Co in Paris, following the completion of her LL.M. in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement (TADS) from Sciences Po Law School, Paris. Sanjana has participated in over a dozen moot court competitions, including the 29th Vis Moot and the IBA ICC Moot 2021. She continues to mentor teams as a coach and remains actively involved with the MAA, having been part of the Core Team for the past two terms.

  • Atta Chiu

    Atta Chiu graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with a Bachelor of Laws in 2023 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in 2024. She will be pursuing a Master of Laws at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the 2024-25 academic year.

    Atta represented CUHK in the 29th Vis Moot as oralist, finishing in top 16. She also co-coached the CUHK team in the 30th Vis Moot where the team finished top 64.

    Atta was a member of the MAA’s Conferences and Events team during the 2023-24 term.

  • Arijit Sanyal

    Arijit is an Advocate admitted to the Bar in New Delhi, India. He works as a tribunal secretary and arbitral assistant, and is also engaged as Of Counsel with Skywards Law, New Delhi, where he supports the firm’s international arbitration and cross-border disputes practice.

    Arijit has experience acting as both tribunal secretary and counsel in arbitrations under major institutional rules, including ICC, SIAC, DIAC, and UNCITRAL. His work spans commercial and investment arbitration, with a growing focus on pre-arbitration advisory, enforcement strategy, and jurisdictional risk analysis.

  • Alan Sham

    Alan is an associate in the dispute resolution practice at MinterEllison in Hong Kong. He has been part of the MAA Core Team since the 30th Vis Moot and has represented the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the 29th Vis Moot as an oralist. He is also a published author of the Hong Kong Journal of Legal Studies (Volume 15).

  • Ana Paula Delgado Fadel

    Originally from Zurich, Switzerland, Ana Paula Fadel resides now in Brazil and is in her final semester of law school at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná. She has participated in the 30th edition of the Vis Moot as researcher and speaker at the São Paulo CAMCCBC Pre-Moot, and in the 31st Vis Moot as researcher. She is the founder and coach of the moot court competitions team of her university, which has participated in various competitions, including the XIV and XV Brazilian Arbitration Moot in which she represented PUCPR as an oralist and as coach.

    Currently, Ana Paula is gaining valuable experience as an intern at Rocha & Rocha Advogados in Londrina, where she focuses mainly on tax law.

  • Angela Zhang

    Angela is a Deputy Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration’s Hong Kong office, after initially joining the Secretariat’s Singapore office in October 2022. She holds an LLM, with distinction, in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from the National University of Singapore, and an LLB, with first class honours, form King’s College London. Prior to joining the ICC, Angela worked with law firms in Singapore and on a social enterprise she co-founded.

  • Ankita Rajiv Agrawal

    Ankita is an Indian qualified advocate, currently based out of Hong Kong. She is experienced in international commercial arbitration and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). Ankita has participated in the Vis East Moot as arbitrator.

  • Arda Ataoğuz

    Arda Ataoğuz is a European and International Business Law LL.M. candidate at the University of Vienna. He participated in the 30th and 31st editions of the Vis Moot as a researcher and oralist, representing the Izmir University of Economics.

    Ataoğuz has served as a conference and event organizer through his roles in various respectable NGOs, including the European Law Students’ Association, Lions Clubs International, and the Izmir University of Economics Model United Nations Society.

  • Giulio Francesco Angius

    Giulio Francesco Angius is a junior associate in the international arbitration department of De Berti Jacchia in Milan, Italy. Giulio mainly assists clients in domestic and international arbitrations, including ad hoc and institutional proceedings, conducted mainly under the rules of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) and the Milan Chamber of Arbitration, as well as in various arbitration-related court proceedings, such as procedures for the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Italy. Giulio graduated in Law from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy), defending a thesis on interim measures in international commercial arbitration. He took part in the 29th edition of the Vis Moot and has been coaching Bocconi’s team ever since.

  • Lucy Li

    Lucy Li is an attorney-at-law registered at the New York State. She currently practices with King and Wood Mallesons in Hong Kong.

    Ms. Li holds B.S. degrees in Economics and Political Science from University of California, Berkeley, J.D. degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and LLM degree from Northwestern University.
    As a mootie, Ms. Li participated in the 27th Vis Moot as a member of the Chinese University of Hong Kong team and the 28th Vis Moot as a member of Northwestern University team. She also participated in other international moot competitions such as the Nuremberg Moot Court in 2020. She also helped coordinate moots like the Moot Shanghai in 2021.

  • Salih Kartal

    Salih Kartal is a Turkish qualified attorney-at-law working in the Istanbul office of Çakmak Attorney Partnership. He primarily focuses on M&A projects, corporate law matters and commercial disputes. He is experienced in international commercial arbitration and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2018.

  • Vera Bykova

    Vera is an International Disputes Lawyer based in Geneva, Switzerland.

    She is qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales and holds an LLM in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS).

    She has experience in investment, commercial and sports arbitration, as well as in maritime law.

    Vera believes that nothing is more gratifying than sharing knowledge with the new generation of bright lawyers: she is coaching the Vis Moot team of the Université de Fribourg – Universität Freiburg. In her law school years, Vera was part of the teams that reached the Quarter-Finals of Philip C. Jessup and FDI moot courts, as well as the team that became the winners of the Vis Moot (Vienna).

    In 2023, Vera was on the Drafting Committee of the 2023 FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) Moot Problem and presided the World Championship round.

    She is also a member of ARBinBRIEF Team, an initiative that aims to promote diversity by showcasing prominent female arbitration practitioners from around the globe in its bi-weekly interviews on hot topics of international arbitration.

  • Wanyan Pan Jiang

    Wanyan is a lawyer based in Madrid, specialising in corporate and commercial dispute resolution. She completed her LL.B. in Law in Spain, and holds an LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Law from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

    Wanyan participated in the 29th Vis Moot (2021-2022) and has since been actively involved as a coach and arbitrator: She has been part of the MAA Core Team since 2022.

  • Alveen Shirinyans

    Alveen Shirinyans is an associate with the international arbitration practice of Hanotiau & van den Berg (“HVDB”) in Brussels, Belgium. She specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration, acting as counsel, tribunal secretary and assistant to the tribunal in various sectors. She has previously worked in Paris at White & Case, the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) and Orrick, and at the CPR Institute in New York.

    She serves as the deputy chair of the Arbitration and ADR Commission of ICC Armenia and as a delegate for Armenia at the ICC Global Commission for Arbitration and ADR.

    She is a licensed attorney in New York, having obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.

  • Ugochi Peace Nwosu

    Ugochi Nwosu is a PhD candidate at University of Reading, UK. Her research explores the Diversity Challenge in International Commercial Arbitration through an intersectional lens. In the course of her PhD, Ugochi has received 2 diplomas in International Arbitration from the International Academy for Arbitration Law, Paris (2021) and Arbitration Lab, Basel (2023). Ugochi has been a mentee at the Young ICCA mentoring programme (9th Cycle) as well as the MAA’s Mentor-Mentee Programme (2022) under the mentorship of Karyl Nairn KC and Prof. Emilia Onyema, respectively. Ugochi is also a part of the editorial board of Ohada Arbitration.

    Prior to the commencement of her PhD, Ugochi qualified as a barrister and solicitor in Nigeria and has over 3 years of experience in corporate and commercial law practice as well as international arbitration.
    Ugochi also holds a masters degree in International Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution (Arbitration) from the University of Reading

  • Nitsa Siradze

    Nitsa Siradze is a Georgian lawyer based in Geneva, Switzerland, where she is enrolled in the Geneva LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) during 2024-2025. Alongside her studies, she is co-coaching the Free University of Tbilisi FDI Moot team.

    She holds an LL.B. from Free University of Tbilisi. She has previously worked as a junior lawyer at Bank of Georgia and has gained valuable experience as a paralegal at BLC Law Office and MG Law in Tbilisi.

    Nitsa is a former mootie. She participated in the 29th Vis Moot and later coached the Free University of Tbilisi’s team for the 31st Vis Moot. Her moot court experience also includes participation in the ICC Cross-Examination Moot and the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where she was recognized as one of the best oralists in the international rounds.

    Passionate about international arbitration, Nitsa strongly believes that diversity and inclusion should be integral components of the field.

  • Karina Sibilska

    Karina Sibilska holds an LL.B. from the Hague University and an LL.M. from the University of Vienna and has recently completed an internship at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), where she assisted in drafting various working papers in Working Group II and III. Karina is a former moot participant and continues to act as an arbitrator for the Vis Moot. She is currently preparing for the bar exam in New York as well as the UK, while participating in various speaking engagements at international conferences.

  • Aaron Tan

    Aaron Tan is an associate at HFW Singapore, specializing in arbitration, general disputes, commodities, and technology law. He has experience in arbitration cases under SIAC, ICC, and LCIA rules, achieving successful outcomes in complex matters, including expedited procedures and disputes in shipping, commodities, and carbon markets. Aaron has also assisted and advised on AI regulation and technology bylaws. Passionate about the intersection of law and technology, he is a frequent speaker at technology and AI-related events, sharing insights on the future of legal technology and its impact on the industry.

  • Selin Özgören

    Selin participated in the 29th edition of the Vis Moot and later contributed to the competition as both a coach and an arbitrator. These experiences significantly deepened her interest in international arbitration, which she further pursued through legal internships at HKIAC and UNCITRAL. She holds an LL.M. from Bocconi University and an LL.B. from Ankara University. Currently, she is completing her legal traineeship in Türkiye.

  • Carolina Kresch

    Carolina Kresch is a lawyer based in São Paulo, where she works in the arbitration team at Padis Mattar Advogados. Carolina graduated in Law from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and is currently a candidate for the 2024/2025 University of Leiden’s International Dispute Settlement and Arbitration (Advanced LL.M.) program. Since 2021, she has been a member of the MAA’s Core Team.

  • Margarita Drobyshevskaia

    Margarita is Deputy Counsel of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

    Margarita holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Higher School of Economics, Moscow (HSE University) and a Master of Laws from the Russian School of Private Law, Moscow. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Contract Law at the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

    Margarita is actively involved in the Moot community, coaching teams for the Vis Moot. She has been with the Moot Alumni Association (MAA) Core Team since 2021. Margarita is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Russian Women in Arbitration (RWA).

  • Aisha S. Bamahriz

    Aisha completed her undergraduate studies with a major in Law and a minor in Diplomacy and International Relations. In her final year, she participated in the 29th Vis Moot as an oralist, spearheading her team into breaking two regional records in the qualifying rounds and achieving a ranking of 12th out of 365+ teams.

    In addition to her legal pursuits, Aisha is dedicated to giving back to the Moot and arbitration community. She joined the MAA and has served two terms as a member of the Media Team, currently serving her third term. Continuing her commitment, she is now also a member of the Africa in the Moot Media & Communications Committee for 2024/25 term.

  • Bersun Dikici

    Bersun Dikici is a Turkish qualified lawyer with three years of experience in corporate law and international dispute resolution. She holds an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution from Humboldt University of Berlin and an LL.B. from Istanbul University. Bersun represented Istanbul University in the 28th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, where her team ranked 12th out of 389 participating teams.

    Following her studies, she worked at Hergüner Bilgen Üçer Attorney Partnership for two years. During her LL.M. studies at Humboldt University of Berlin, she further refined her expertise in international arbitration through roles at BODENHEIMER and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). In addition to her legal practice, Bersun currently serves as the Co-Chair of Young EDAC, the youth division of the Energy Disputes Arbitration Center.

  • Mevlüt Ali Deveci

    Mevlüt Ali Deveci is a senior student at Istanbul University, double majoring in Law and Business Administration. Before joining the MAA Core Team in 2024 in the Media Team, he participated in the 31st Vis Moot and his team was awarded an Honourable Mention for Best Team Orals. While continuing his bachelors education, he has completed four different internships in law firms in Turkey and Germany focused on international commercial law, investment law and corporate law.

  • Nina Rasljanin

    Nina Rašljanin is as an attorney at law from Belgrade, Serbia. She has been working for an international law firm, Schoenherr attorneys at law, since 2021.

    She obtained her LLB degree, as well as LLM degree in international commercial law from the University of Belgrade. She is also currently pursuing an LLM degree in Competition Law and Economics at the Brussels School of Competition in Brussels.

    Nina participated in the 28th Vis Moot, where she won an Honorable Mention for the Martin Domke Award for Best Individual Oralist. She was also one of the assistant coaches to the Belgrade Vis Moot team for the 29th Vis Moot.

    She has been a part of the MAA Media Team since 2021.

  • Emily Feigel

    Emily Feigel is a law clerk at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin, Germany. After graduating, she worked as a research assistant to Professor Dr. Gerald Mäsch at the University of Münster. Emily further gained practical experience at the German Federal Ministry of Justice, where she supported the work on the modernization of the German arbitration law. She specializes in the fields of private international and civil procedural law. Prior to her graduation, she gained practical experience working for Professor Dr. Giesela Rühl and two international law firms. Emily participated in the 24 Vis Moot / 14th Vis East Moot and coached the University of Münster Vis Moot team in the 26/16th Vis Moot. In the 29/19th Vis Moot she acted as a senior coach for the University of Münster and served as an arbitrator. Emily joined the MAA Core Team in June 2021, first as a team member of the Conferences & Events Team.

  • Alexandra Witting

    Alexandra Witting is a lawyer in the Competition, Consumer and Regulatory Team at Allens, a leading Australian commercial law firm. Alexandra recently graduated from the University of New South Wales with First Class Honours. In the 31st Vis Moot in 2024, she earned an Honourable Mention for the Martin Domke Best Individual Oralist Award, and participated in pre-moots across Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Brussels, Paris, Belgrade and Budapest. Alexandra has grown in the profession under the guidance of several mentors, and is passionate about reciprocating collegiality in the legal community through teaching, mentoring, and judging student competitions.

  • Suit Myat Htet

    Suit Myat Htet is a qualified lawyer from Myanmar. She holds an LL.M. from Central European University in Austria and recently completed an internship at UNCITRAL. Currently based in Vienna, she engages in legal research with a Brazilian law firm, focusing on international arbitration and dispute resolution.

    She participated in the Middle East Pre-Moot and Vis East Moot during her LL.B. studies in Myanmar, and later served as a student coach for her university team. She was also a mentee in the 2021-2022 cycle of the MAA Mentor-Mentee Programme.

    She first joined the MAA Core Team in 2024 as a team member of the Mentor-Mentee Team.

  • Vanshika Maan

    Vanshika Maan is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team at S&A Law Offices, where she focuses on arbitration and commercial litigation. A graduate of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, Vanshika has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to international dispute resolution. She earned an Honourable Mention for Best Advocate at the FDI International Arbitration Moot 2024 in Berlin, where her team ranked 5th globally in oral pleadings and 19th overall.

    She is also the Founder of ConfabulArb, a platform dedicated to making arbitration more accessible for students and young professionals. She served as a member of the Mentor-Mentee Team during the previous MAA Core Team term.

  • Rupesh Gupta

    Rupesh Gupta is a qualified practitioner in India, having vast experience in handling international commercial arbitrations, white-collar crimes and employment related disputes. He is leading his law firm named AAA Legal, with its office in New Delhi, India. Rupesh has been empanelled with international institutional arbitration organisations as an arbitrator. Rupesh has been part of various moot events in the past and has endeavoured to share his knowledge and experience with the young law students. He is a recipient of the Lex Falcon Award for the year 2022 and has been consistently working on enhancing his experience and practice within and outside India.

  • Vitoria Kreutz Werle

    Vitória is a Brazilian-qualified attorney based in São Paulo. She regularly acts as tribunal secretary in domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings. She graduated summa cum laude from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and is an alumna of Roma Tre University.

    Vitória is Senior Editor at Arbipedia, a research database on commercial arbitration in Brazil. She was an oralist at the 27th and the 28th editions of the Vis Moot and the 21st Vis East Moot, in which she reached the Round of 8. She also coached in the 32nd Vis Moot and her team reached the Round of 32.

    Vitória joined the MAA Core Team in 2022 and in 2024 took the leadership of the Regional Representatives Team.

  • Abdalla Zaher

    Abdalla Zaher is an LLM candidate in International Law at Cairo University, currently working at the World Bank Legal Vice Presidency Unit, with professional experience in Dispute Resolution, Banking & Finance, and Corporate Law. Abdalla has worked at top law firms, including Clifford Chance and Baker McKenzie, and has an extensive background in moot court competitions, having participated in and coached teams for the Sports Arbitration Moot, John H. Jackson Moot, and the Vis Moot. His dedication to the legal field is matched by his commitment to mentoring and fostering the next generation of legal professionals.

  • Aitizaz Asher

    Aitizaz Asher is a Pakistani-qualified lawyer, specializing in civil and commercial matters. He has a rich professional experience, having served as a Judicial Associate at the Supreme Court of Pakistan and as a Research Associate at the National Assembly Secretariat of Pakistan.

    Aitizaz has represented his university in various national and international moot court competitions including the prestigious 19th Vis East Moot. His prowess in advocacy was recognized with an Honorable Mention for Best Claimant Oralist at the 12th Middle East ICA Vis Pre-Moot in Bahrain. Additionally, his exceptional skills in mediation and dispute resolution earned him the first-place award in the Weinstein International Foundation’s International Mediation Writing Competition in 2021.

    Aitizaz frequently coaches teams for various domestic and international moots, mediation and negotiation competitions, and is actively associated with the Vis Moot community as an arbitrator and coach.

  • Alejandra Carolina Huaman Cabrera

    Carolina is the founder and current president of ARBITRI – Organization of National and International Arbitration. She did an internship at the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC). Carolina holds a position as a Coordinator of the Media Team in Arbitraje Alumni (AA) of the UBA Moot Competition organized by CIAR and is an arbitrator for the 2025 Edition. She has been a longstanding mootie, coach and arbitrator in international arbitration moot teams over the years, including Moot Madrid, Moot UBA, and the Vis Moot. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a specialization in European Business Law by the University of Lund. Carolina has attended both the American University Arbitration Summer School and the Paris Arbitration Academy, with their respective scholarships. Recently, she has helped with the edition of the Guide on the Law Applicable to International Investment Arbitration, published by the Organization of the American States (OEA) on its 104th session.

  • Chiara Azzaroni

    Chiara is currently a trainee lawyer at ArbLit – Radicati di Brozolo Sabatini Benedettelli Torsello and a PhD student in civil procedure at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna. Her main interests focus on international commercial arbitration and cross-border litigation.

    She graduated summa cum laude from the Law School of the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna in 2022 with the dissertation “The res judicata in the European legal order”, which explored the different issues and peculiarities of res giudicata in a comparative approach.

    In 2021/2022, she participated in the 20th Vis Moot, where she pleaded on the procedural aspects of the dispute.

  • Emmy Edwards

    Emmy Edwards competed in the Vis Moot in 2022 and 2023 with Souther Methodist University from Dallas, Texas. She graduated with her JD in 2024 and currently works as an Associate in the Labor and Employment group with Perkins Coie LLP in Dallas, Texas.

  • Leanne Marie Torrato

    Leanne Marie Torrato is a Philippine-qualified lawyer currently working for the Government of the Republic of the Philippines under the Department of Justice – Office of the Government Corporate Counsel. She earned a Master of Laws in International Dispute Resolution from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin in Germany. Her professional background includes experience as a law firm associate specializing in dispute resolution, as well as in-house counsel work in the area of law and technology. She is currently in my second term as a member of the Regional Representatives Team.

  • Milica Lopandić

    Milica Lopandić participated in the Vis Moot as a mootie, arbitrator and coach for the University of Banja Luka. Milica obtained her Bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Law University of Banja Luka and is currently enrolled in LLM studies at the Faculty of Law University of Belgrade in the field of International Business Law. Milica is employed as a Legal Associate in a law office in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is a member of the Bar Association of Republika Srpska. Additionally, on a contract basis Milica does legal research and assists with drafting submissions in the field of international arbitration and FIDIC Contracts.

  • Nodirkhon Malikov

    Nodir Malikov, LL.M., is a New York-based lawyer in the area of international arbitration. His areas of practice primarily include international arbitration and mediation. In addition to alternative dispute resolution, he has advised high-profile clients in the areas of air industry, construction, antitrust law, banking and finance, corporate law, international trade law, licensing and certification, and consumer protection matters in Uzbekistan and beyond.

  • Priya Conrad

    Priya is currently in her final year of her LLB and BA (Global Politics and Policy) at Murdoch University in Western Australia. Priya competed in the 31st Vis Moot. She was nominated ‘Best Student Arbitrator’ at the 14th Budapest Pre-Moot and went on to arbitrate the grand final at that pre-moot competition. Priya served as an MAA Regional Representative in the previous MAA Core Team term.

  • Sarah Fait

    Sarah is a law student in her final year at the University of Mainz. She participated in the 30th Vis Moot and is now coaching the Vis Moot Team at her university for the second time. Besides her interest in international arbitration, she is also immersed in capital markets law and antitrust law.

  • Selin Defne Serter

    Selin is a graduate of Istanbul University. Before joining the MAA Core Team, she participated in the 31st Vis Moot. She is also a member of the organizing committee for Istanbul Arbitration Days and is actively engaged in efforts to introduce and promote arbitration within Turkey and among its students.

  • Sushma Bhandari

    Sushma Bhandari is a law graduate from Kathmandu School of Law, Nepal, specializing in Business and Trade Law. She has represented her institution in the 31st Vis Moot and the 20th Vis Moot East Moot, experiences that sparked her deep interest in arbitration and international commercial law.

    Currently, she works as a Legal Advisor for an internationally based tech company, where she contributes her expertise in cross-border legal matters.

  • Youb Webisa

    Youb Webisa is a law student in his final year at Makerere University. He participated in the 31st Vis Moot, the 3rd Annual East African pre-moot (Nairobi) and the AIAC/APAC pre-moot.

    His unique experience as the sole representative of his team in Vienna has shaped his sense of community and desire to give back to Africa in the Moot. Youb hopes to see more African teams make their mark on the world stage.

  • Zahra Maleki

    Zahra Maleki is an associate at ZAKvocates and works as a Legal Expert, focusing on ICT law, legaltech, and digital banking. She is also studying International Trade and Economic Law at the University of Tehran, with a focus on smart contracts.

    Since 2021, Zahra has been actively involved in the Vis Moot, having participated in the 29th Vis Moot. Following her participation, she has dedicated time to coaching teams, helping to prepare the next generation of participants for this prestigious competition. Through these experiences, she has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in international arbitration.

  • Derya Durlu Gürzumar

    Mrs. Derya Durlu Gürzumar is an attorney-at-law registered at the Istanbul Bar Association, and is the current chair of the International Bar Association’s Alternative and New Law Business Structures Committee.

    She holds LLB and LLM degrees from Bilkent University Faculty of Law, in Ankara, Turkey, and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Neuchâtel, in Switzerland.

    Being an ardent Vis mootie since 2007, Mrs. Durlu Gürzumar has been one of the few law students to receive two successive Honorable Mentions in the Martin Domke Best Oralist Award in the 16th and 17th Vis Moot competitions.
    She has been coaching teams and arbitrating in many international and domestic arbitration competitions since 2010. In 2021, Mrs. Durlu Gürzumar’s Vis Moot team from Bilkent University became the highest-ranking Turkish university by reaching the semi-finals in the Vis East and the octo-finals in the Vis Moot.

  • Julian Juhasz

    Dr. Julian Juhasz is currently working as a Junior Associate at Bär & Karrer in Zurich, Switzerland. He completed his PhD at the University of Basel in Switzerland, graduating with a thesis on “Framework agreements regarding the international supply of goods and the CISG”. Prior to this, he studied law at the University of Basel.

    Julian has been a member of the MAA Core Team since 2023. He participated in the 24th Vis Moot as well as the 14th Vis East Moot, and coached his university’s teams for the 28th Vis Moot.

  • Shu Zhang

    Dr. Shu Zhang is a Senior Lecturer in commercial law at Deakin Law School, Deakin University (Australia). Prior to joining Deakin Law School, Dr. Zhang was a postdoctoral fellow in the Chinese International Business and Economic Law Initiative, Law School, University of New South Wales (Australia). Her research interests include international commercial law, dispute resolution and international arbitration, as well as comparative contract law. She is also admitted to practice in New South Wales, Australia. Dr. Zhang obtained her Ph.D. in Law from University of New South Wales (Australia), and her LLM, LLB and BA in Economics (Double Degree) from Peking University (China). She has published various manuscripts with leading journals.

  • Jessica Rado

    Jessica Rado is a litigation attorney based in New York and holds an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution from Fordham University School of Law. In addition to her work as counsel, she is currently serving as Alumni Advisor at Fordham Law School, where she lectures on international commercial arbitration and international sales law and coaches the students taking part in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

    As a very active member of the international arbitration community, Jessica is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is the creator and moderator of the webinar series “1,000 Paths to a Career in Arbitration” which seeks to provide guidance and inspiration to young practitioners. Jessica is currently serving her first term as Vice President of the Moot Alumni Association, and previously served as Administrative Editor of the Vindobona Journal from 2023 to 2025.

  • Marco Bottin

    Marco has been involved with the Vis Moot since 2020, when he founded the team that is now regularly representing the University of Padua (Italy). He participated at the 28th Vis Moot, winning an award for Best Memorandum at the AIAC Pre-Moot. He took part as an Observer at the 59th Session of the UNCITRAL Working Group V for the MAA.

  • Mia Timpano

    Mia Timpano is a Bachelor of Laws student at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, starting a career as a commercial lawyer.

    Passionate about legal advocacy, she represented Deakin as an oralist in the 21st Vis East and the 2023 Deakin International Commercial Arbitration Moot. In the latter, she advanced to the quarter finals and received a highly commended written submission award.

    She is a current Deakin International Commercial Arbitration Moot Coach and Memoranda Reviewer with Africa in the Moot.

    Her previous career was in journalism. She held writer and editor roles at national and international mastheads, and has nearly two decades of experience in print magazine publishing, digital media and broadcast media.

    Mia has an abiding interest in arbitration, cross-border contractual disputes and comparative contract law.

  • Adrian Manuel König

    Adrian is a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart, a doctoral candidate at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany, and is writing his doctoral thesis on the efficacy of declarations of intent. At the same time, he is a research assistant at the chair of Prof Dr Stefan Huber, LL.M. (Köln/Paris). He has supervised the Vis Moot team of the University of Tübingen for seven years and took part in the competition himself in 2016/2017.

  • Daniela-Olivia Ghicajanu

    Daniela is currently part of the international arbitration team of Quinn Emanuel law firm in Paris. Before joining Quinn Emanuel’s international arbitration team, Daniela was a fellow researcher in investment law and dispute settlement at the Center for the Advancement for the Rule of Law in the Americas (CAROLA) within Georgetown Law School in Washington,DC, and worked with the international arbitration team of a law firm in DC. She trained in both civil and common law. Daniela specialised in international arbitration at Georgetown Law Center and in EU law at the College of Europe. Daniela’s main interests focus on international arbitration, investment law, trade law, and economic policy.

  • Daria Shylova

    Daria is a Double Degree LLM candidate at the University of Zurich / University of California School of Law with a focus on international trade and business law. Throughout last year, she was engaged as a legal trainee at the arbitration boutique Rothron Legal in Zurich, Switzerland. Daria took part in the anniversary edition of the Vis Moot in 2022/23 on behalf of the University of Zurich, earning various awards for the written memoranda both in Vienna and Hong Kong.

  • Inma Conde

    Inma Conde is a former Vis Moot participant and an international lawyer with a background in both civil and common law systems. She currently serves at the Office of International Law within the Australian Attorney-General’s Department and is also a Casual Lecturer and PhD Candidate at the University of Sydney. Her doctoral research focuses on comparative law, international commercial law, and the interpretation of uniform legal instruments. She is supported by the RTP, WA Cooke, Jane Cooke, and Alfred Godfrey Scholarships, as well as the Francis Forbes Fund Grant. Inma also serves as Secretary of the Australian UNCITRAL Coordination Committee (UNCCA). Fluent in English, Spanish, French, and German, she brings a multicultural perspective that enriches her contributions to the discourse on international legal matters.

  • Johannes Abrell

    Johannes Abrell studied law at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main since October 2018. In December 2023, he successfully completed the first state examination (staatliche Pflichtfachprüfung). He will complete his studies in the fall of 2024 with a specialization (Schwerpunkt) in “Internationalization and Europeanization of Law”, by completing his academic thesis (wissenschaftliche Hausarbeit). Johannes was part of the Frankfurt team for the 28th Vis Moot 2020/2021 and he was coach of the Frankfurt team for the 31st Vis Moot 2023/2024. Johannes supports this year’s Frankfurt team as senior coach and Vice President of the Frankfurt Moot Alumni Association. During his studies he has been a student research assistant at the Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedural Law, International Criminal Law, European Criminal Law, Legal Comparison and Legal Theory of Prof. Dr. Christoph Burchard and student research assistant at White & Case. He is working as a research assistant at rothorn legal since August 2024 and will pursue a PhD in international commercial arbitration and international private law.

  • Rinat Gareev

    Rinat is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., the State of New York, and the U.S. Court of International Trade, and holds right of audience at AIFC (Kazakhstan). Rinat represents foreign and domestic clients in domestic and cross-border business matters, assisting MSMEs and established companies through all stages of their life cycle, from formation and capital raising to growth via acquisitions and joint ventures, and exit or sale transactions. As the Head of Legal and Compliance at a multinational company, he provided strategic advice to senior management on corporate governance, risk management, compliance, regulatory matters, and corporate restructuring across the US, UAE, Cayman Islands, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. Rinat’s training at leading arbitral institutions and law firms in Malaysia, South Korea, and international organizations such as UNCITRAL equipped him with extensive experience in cross-border dispute resolution.

  • Se Won Park

    Se Won participated in the 29th and 30th Vis Moots as a selected competitor and as a student coach for the Cardozo Law School Team. She currently remains an active member of MAA, having joined the Vindobona Journal as Editor in 2024. In her professional career, she is an Associate at Hourani & Partners located in Dubai, UAE as an International Disputes attorney.
