  • Wenru Rui

    Ms. Wenru Rui is a Law and Business Operation Specialist at the transnational electronic design company Altium. She graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law with a masters degree. Wenru is a former mootie, having participated in the 26th Vis Moot and several Vis Pre-Moots in China. She was inspired by the spirit of the Moot, she continued to support the Moot by coaching and organizing moot competitions. She was a member of the Organizing Committee of the Vis Pre-Moot in Shanghai and promoted the organization of the competition.

    She has interned in arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce and the Shanghai Arbitration Commission. She accumulated a lot of experience about the organization of legal seminars, training and conferences. She has been a member of the MAA’s China Project Team for the last 3 years.

  • Haowen (Daisy) Chen

    Haowen (Daisy) Chen is an associate at Global Law Office. Admitted in China and New York State (USA), she specializes in cross-border commercial arbitration and litigation. Daisy represents prominent domestic and international clients in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings. Her extensive courtroom experience encompasses proceedings before all levels of the Chinese judiciary, ranging from the Supreme People’s Court and various Higher People’s Courts and Intermediate People’s Courts, to specialized courts such as the Financial Courts and Maritime Courts. Furthermore, she regularly acts in arbitrations administered by leading global institutions, including CIETAC, SHIAC, SHAC, BAC, HKIAC, SIAC, and SCMA.

  • Ling Sun

    Ms. Ling Sun was a Senior Legal Analyst at Herbert Smith Freehills Shanghai Representative Office, specializing in cross-border disputes and compliance investigations. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and will pursue her Master of Laws in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at the National University of Singapore from 2025 to 2026.

    An experienced mootie, Ling won First Prize at the FDI Moot Shenzhen and competed in both the CIETAC Cup and FDI International Arbitration Moot. Inspired by her moot experiences and eager to contribute to the Moot community, she previously served as President of her university’s Moot Court Board and assisted with the Vis Pre-Moot in Shanghai.

  • Linrui (Charlie) Zhang

    Mr. Linrui (Charlie) Zhang is a 2026 master’s candidate in Private International Law at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a 2025 LL.M. candidate in International Arbitration & Dispute Resolution at National University of Singapore. He graduated with a bachelor’s of law degree from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law in 2023.

    In moot courts, he participated in the Vis Moot, Asia-Pacific and China Rounds, winning AIAC Top 32, CIETAC Cup National Second Prize, and FDI China Round Second Runner-up. He joined the 2024 MAA Mentor-Mentee Program and DOMANI International Arbitration Cross-Examination Program, organized the 2021 Vis Pre-Moot (Moot Shanghai), and coached his undergrad and grad moot team.

    His professional internships include Beijing No.4 Intermediate Peoples’ Court, Beijing Hui Zhong Law Firm, Shanghai Arbitration Commission, and ICC North Asia Office.

  • Khaing Nyein Zin

    Khaing Nyein Zin (Cayla) is currently pursuing her LL.M. at Peking University School of Transnational Law. Her interest in arbitration sparked during her LL.B. days at the University of Yangon, where she took part in moot court competitions like the 27th Vis Moot, the 10th Annual Middle East Vis Pre-Moot, and the 2021 Jessup Moot.

    In 2021, she served as Vice President of ALSA International, where she helped organize and oversee events such as the ALSA Moot Court Competition (AIMCC), ALSA Mediation Competition, and the JHJMCC Asia-Pacific Rounds. She also worked on promoting alternative dispute resolution through workshops and events for law students across Asia.

    She was a mentee in the 2024–2025 MAA Mentor–Mentee Programme and stays involved in the arbitration community through networks like WIPO Young ADR and Young ICCA.

  • Ariana Barker

    Ariana Barker serves as in-house counsel at a European pharmaceutical company. She holds a Master’s degree in International and European Law from Saarland University, with concentrations in European Economic Law and International Dispute Resolution.

    During her academic tenure, she represented Saarland University at the 29th Vis Moot and the 2021 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Moot. Ariana is an active member of the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club (CEIA) as well as the Austrian Arbitration Association.

  • Božo Čović

    Božo works as a Compliance and Legal Office at an investment firm in Podgorica, Montenegro. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at the University of Montenegro, where he also completed his master studies in business law in 2023.

    Additionally, Božo was a Vis Moot participant at the 29th Vis Moot and coached the University of Montenegro team for three years. He is a member of the MAA Core Team since 2024.

  • Lukas Petschning

    Lukas participated in the 29th Vis Moot and has been a member of the MAA ever since. He is currently a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of European, International and Comparative Law of the University of Vienna, where he is pursuing a PhD in law. His research focuses on international arbitration, conflict of laws, and particularly on the intersection of the two subject areas. Since 2024, Lukas has been coaching the team of the University of Vienna for the Vis Moot and Vis East.

  • Sanjana Sachdev

    Sanjana Sachdev is an Indian-qualified lawyer with experience in both commercial litigation and arbitration (domestic and international). She is currently a part of the International Arbitration team at Clyde & Co in Paris, following the completion of her LL.M. in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement (TADS) from Sciences Po Law School, Paris. Sanjana has participated in over a dozen moot court competitions, including the 29th Vis Moot and the IBA ICC Moot 2021. She continues to mentor teams as a coach and remains actively involved with the MAA, having been part of the Core Team for the past two terms.

  • Misra Yalcin

    Mısra Yalçın is a lawyer admitted to the Istanbul Bar with experience in domestic and international commercial disputes. She holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law (ICAL) at Stockholm University and currently works as a Research Assistant for Kluwer Arbitration. She is a member of the MAA Core Team since 2021.

  • Wanyan Pan Jiang

    Wanyan is a lawyer based in Madrid, specialising in corporate and commercial dispute resolution. She completed her LL.B. in Law in Spain, and holds an LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Law from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

    Wanyan participated in the 29th Vis Moot (2021-2022) and has since been actively involved as a coach and arbitrator: She has been part of the MAA Core Team since 2022.

  • Yongwen (Wendy) Zheng

    Yongwen (Wendy) Zheng currently works as an in-house counsel at a listed manufacturing company in Shenzhen, China, supporting the company’s international operations.

    Prior to this role, she graduated from the University of Hong Kong and Shenzhen University with dual master’s degrees, studying common law and private international law respectively. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in law from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and qualified for the legal profession in mainland China.

    Her Vis Moot story began in 2022 when she competed as an oralist in the 20th Vis East Moot. Inspired by the spirit of Vis Moot, she has since actively participated in various arbitration moots and mediation competitions, taking on leadership and coaching roles.

  • Arijit Sanyal

    Arijit is an Advocate admitted to the Bar in New Delhi, India. He works as a tribunal secretary and arbitral assistant, and is also engaged as Of Counsel with Skywards Law, New Delhi, where he supports the firm’s international arbitration and cross-border disputes practice.

    Arijit has experience acting as both tribunal secretary and counsel in arbitrations under major institutional rules, including ICC, SIAC, DIAC, and UNCITRAL. His work spans commercial and investment arbitration, with a growing focus on pre-arbitration advisory, enforcement strategy, and jurisdictional risk analysis.

  • Giulio Francesco Angius

    Giulio Francesco Angius is a junior associate in the international arbitration department of De Berti Jacchia in Milan, Italy. Giulio mainly assists clients in domestic and international arbitrations, including ad hoc and institutional proceedings, conducted mainly under the rules of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) and the Milan Chamber of Arbitration, as well as in various arbitration-related court proceedings, such as procedures for the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Italy. Giulio graduated in Law from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy), defending a thesis on interim measures in international commercial arbitration. He took part in the 29th edition of the Vis Moot and has been coaching Bocconi’s team ever since.

  • Ghazal Bhootra

    Ghazal Bhootra is an Indian-qualified lawyer. She has recently completed her Masters in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from the National University of Singapore. Ghazal has interned at various leading firms in Mumbai, Singapore, Dubai, Paris and Copenhagen among others. She is currently a trainee at the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre (arbitrateAD). Ghazal thrives in high-stakes environments, having actively assisted in pre-hearing strategies, procedural challenges, and drafting submissions on tight deadlines, at firms including Plesner, Dentons, and Khaitan & Co.

    Ghazal’s research interests lie in the interconnection of arbitration with hugely debated topics like artificial intelligence, ethics, carbon credits, climate change and human rights. Ghazal participated in the 31st Edition of the Vis Moot in Vienna and has been involved with the Moot since then.

  • Prajwal Ghale

    Prajwal Ghale is a Junior Associate in the Litigation team at Reliance Corporate Advisors (RCA). He plays an active role in advising and representing clients in a wide range of civil and commercial disputes before courts and arbitral tribunals. His work includes legal research, drafting legal documents, preparing case strategies, and assisting senior counsels in hearings and arbitration proceedings. Prajwal has growing exposure to customs, labour, and energy law, supporting clients in regulatory disputes, compliance issues, and litigation involving import/export matters, employment relations, and energy sector operations. His experience spans advisory roles and hands-on litigation support in matters arising under sector-specific regulations and frameworks.

  • Hoda Ghassabian

    Hoda Ghassabian is a trainee lawyer in the International Dispute Resolution Practice Group of Squire Patton Boggs (UK) LLP, Milan, Italy. She is regularly involved in commercial and investor-state arbitration, with experience under the ICSID, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and ICC rules. She focuses her practice on areas relating to international investment and commercial arbitration disputes in oil and gas, energy, and telecommunication industries, and public international law. She has participated in the 28th edition of the Vis Moot and has been coaching university teams ever since.

  • Jeanne Michel

    Jeanne Michel is an in-house counsel at an international company in Monaco, where she advises on a wide range of legal and contractual matters. Her work covers areas such as shipping, offshore construction, sale and purchase agreements, claims, vessel scrapping, and general commercial issues.

    She competed as an oralist in the 25th edition of the Vis Moot, where she sharpened her advocacy and negotiation skills. Now in her seventh year as a coach, Jeanne continues to be actively involved in the competition, both mentoring teams and arbitrating.

  • Izabela Moriggi Costa

    Izabela Moriggi Costa is a Brazilian-qualified attorney based in São Paulo. She holds an LLM in International Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and is a graduate of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR).

    Izabela is an associate at Justen, Pereira, Oliveira & Talamini Advogados, where she handles cases in both domestic and international arbitration. Specializing in international commercial law and dispute resolution, she has been actively involved in moot courts, including the Vis Moot. Izabela coached the UFPR team ofthe 32nd Vis Moot, which reached the Round of 64.

  • Stanislava Sosnina

    Stanislava Sosnina is a legal counsel at a European energy company. She specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as cross-border disputes in foreign courts.

    Stanislava coaches teams in international competitions (Vis Moot, FDI Moot, FIAMC). Under her guidance, the team from Diponegoro University (Indonesia) won first place and became runners-up in the FDI Moot.

    She holds a law degree from Moscow State University and previously served as a regional representative for the AIAC APAC VIS Pre-Moot.

  • Yindong Sun

    Yindong is a Magister Juris candidate at University of Oxford. He holds a Juris Master from Tsinghua University and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College.

    As a mootie, Yindong participated in the 31st edition of the Vis Moot and 21st edition of the Vis East Moot. His team advanced to the Round of 16 in the Vis East and won the first prize in the CIETAC Cup pre-moot.

    Before joining the MAA Core Team, Yindong has undertaken internships at international organization and law firms. He also assisted a Hong Kong based international arbitrator.

  • Mick Wiegenstein

    Mick Wiegenstein is a current LL.M. candidate at the University of Vienna. He participated in the 31st Vis Moot and holds degrees from the University of Graz and Portland State University, and has a particular passion for the intersection of trade and law in an international context.

  • Fontane Wong

    Fontane is a future pupil barrister. She graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with LLB and PCLL. She represented her school in the 31st Vis Moot as an oralist and later co-coached the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur team in the 22nd Vis East Moot.

  • Lilit Nagapetyan

    Lilit is a dual-qualified Solicitor Advocate at Norton Rose Fulbright in London, with experience in large-scale cross-border and domestic commercial litigations and high-value international commercial arbitration proceedings (LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL etc), as well as mediation and expert determination. In parallel, she is a Teaching Associate at Queen Mary University of London (School of International Arbitration) where she also pursues her PhD. Lilit is a former VisMoot participant (25th Vienna Moot: Eric Bergsten Hon.Men.; Martin Domke Hon.Men.) and a coach (30th Vienna Moot: round of 16), and regularly arbitrates in various pre-moots and Vienna rounds.

  • Nikola Nikolic

    Nikola Nikolić is a PhD candidate at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and works as a Knowledge Management Lawyer at Seven Summits Arbitration. He holds an LL.M. degree from Saarland University (Germany) and an LL.B. from the University of Belgrade (Serbia). Nikola is a Serbian-qualified lawyer, and he gained his arbitration experience by working internationally in the Netherlands and Germany.
    As a lawyer with a disability, Nikola was a member of the ICC Disability Task Force Group representing Germany. He actively works and speaks on advancement of disability inclusion in the field of international arbitration.

  • Huahua Chen

    Huahua is a Chinese disputes lawyer with an international background. With three law degrees from China, the Netherlands and Singapore, she has studied and worked in 5 different countries with leading international law firms, leading Chinese firms, and the UN. Her unique life experiences enabled her to observe how factors such as culture, language, ethnicity, and gender could contribute to inequities and uneven access to opportunities within the legal industry. Huahua is also the founder of “Her Legal Voices”, a career salon aiming at empowering young female lawyers by interviewing successful senior female lawyers. As a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, she is keen to advance equitable practices within the arbitration community by developing initiatives, resources, and outreach programs that support a more diverse and inclusive arbitration environment.

  • Gurtej Grewal

    Gurtej Grewal is a recent graduate of Penn State Law. He has competed in and coached teams for the Vis Moot and other international moot competitions. Gurtej has a strong interest in international arbitration, sports and entertainment law, and cross-border dispute resolution. Outside the moot world, he has worked in both public and private sector roles and contributed to legal projects involving technological innovation, investment arbitration, and competition law.

  • Sarina Hara

    Hara is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Eastern Finland, where she also works as a Teaching Assistant in the Commercial Trade Law team. Her interest in international commercial sales law began with her participation in the 31st Vis Moot. Since then, she has served as a coach for her university’s Vis Moot team. Motivated by the collaborative spirit of the Vis community, Hara aims to help foster an open and inclusive environment for all Mooties and MAA members.

  • Suit Myat Htet

    Suit Myat Htet is a qualified lawyer from Myanmar. She holds an LL.M. from Central European University in Austria and recently completed an internship at UNCITRAL. Currently based in Vienna, she engages in legal research with a Brazilian law firm, focusing on international arbitration and dispute resolution.

    She participated in the Middle East Pre-Moot and Vis East Moot during her LL.B. studies in Myanmar, and later served as a student coach for her university team. She was also a mentee in the 2021-2022 cycle of the MAA Mentor-Mentee Programme.

    She first joined the MAA Core Team in 2024 as a team member of the Mentor-Mentee Team.

  • Selin Özgören

    Selin participated in the 29th edition of the Vis Moot and later contributed to the competition as both a coach and an arbitrator. These experiences significantly deepened her interest in international arbitration, which she further pursued through legal internships at HKIAC and UNCITRAL. She holds an LL.M. from Bocconi University and an LL.B. from Ankara University. Currently, she is completing her legal traineeship in Türkiye.

  • Sofiia Saltynska

    Sofiia Saltynska holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration from Stockholm University and an LL.B. in International Law from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She has participated in moot court competitions, including the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot, the FDI Moot, and most recently served as an arbitrator at the Vis Moot. She is currently a student representative at the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations.

  • Alyson Smith

    Alyson participated in the 32nd Vis Moot, which strengthened her interests in international commercial law and arbitration. Alyson recently earned her Juris Doctor degree and is currently preparing for the California Bar Exam. Alyson will be commencing her judicial clerkship this year with the long-term goal of dual qualifying in a foreign jurisdiction and practicing international law abroad. Alyson looks forward to deepening her connections with the Vis Moot as a member of the International Liaisons Team, as well as an assistant coach for London’s Center for Transnational Legal Studies.

  • Aisha S. Bamahriz

    Aisha completed her undergraduate studies with a major in Law and a minor in Diplomacy and International Relations. In her final year, she participated in the 29th Vis Moot as an oralist, spearheading her team into breaking two regional records in the qualifying rounds and achieving a ranking of 12th out of 365+ teams.

    In addition to her legal pursuits, Aisha is dedicated to giving back to the Moot and arbitration community. She joined the MAA and has served two terms as a member of the Media Team, currently serving her third term. Continuing her commitment, she is now also a member of the Africa in the Moot Media & Communications Committee for 2024/25 term.

  • Nina Rasljanin

    Nina Rašljanin is as an attorney at law from Belgrade, Serbia. She has been working for an international law firm, Schoenherr attorneys at law, since 2021.

    She obtained her LLB degree, as well as LLM degree in international commercial law from the University of Belgrade. She is also currently pursuing an LLM degree in Competition Law and Economics at the Brussels School of Competition in Brussels.

    Nina participated in the 28th Vis Moot, where she won an Honorable Mention for the Martin Domke Award for Best Individual Oralist. She was also one of the assistant coaches to the Belgrade Vis Moot team for the 29th Vis Moot.

    She has been a part of the MAA Media Team since 2021.

  • Myroslava Krysan

    Myroslava Krysan is a law student at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ukraine. In 2024, she pursued an academic exchange at Université de Lille, specializing in competition and employment law. Myroslava represented her university in the 32nd Vis Moot, focusing on procedural aspects of arbitration. She has also gained practical experience through internships at boutique law firms in Kyiv, being engaged in disputes within the aviation, pharmaceuticals and technology sectors. Beyond moot competitions, she has been an active participant in international academic forums, including delegations to the Supreme Court of Ukraine and Jagiellonian University.

  • Grace Okafor

    Grace Okafor is an unregistered Barrister, having been called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. She currently works as a Senior Corporate Paralegal at a commercial litigation firm.

    Grace holds an LLB in International Law (European Legal Studies) with a study abroad component, and an LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolution, awarded with distinction. She represented the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in both the 31st and 32nd Vis Moots.

  • Aysenur Özünca

    Ayşenur is a Turkish attorney-at-law admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association. She graduated from MEF University in Istanbul with a strong interest in international arbitration. In her senior year, she represented MEF University as an oralist in the 29th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Following her participation in the Vis Moot, she joined the arbitration team of ASC Law, an Istanbul-based law firm, where she gained hands-on experience in international arbitration for nearly two years.

    She is currently pursuing her LL.M. in European and International Commercial Law at the University of Vienna. Alongside her academic pursuits, Ayşenur contributes to the MAA Core as a member of the Media Team, combining her legal background with a dedication to the international arbitration and moot community.

  • Tannvi

    Tannvi is a corporate lawyer at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where she advises clients in the fintech and technology sectors on a range of business law matters, including regulatory compliance, corporate structuring, and commercial transactions. Her work involves supporting startups, financial service providers, and technology-driven companies through the legal complexities of growth and innovation.

    She has a strong academic and mooting background, having represented her university at international competitions. Notably, she has been an avid mootie, participating in both the Jessup (2024) and the Vis Moot (2023).

  • Mariana Martos Yamashita

    Mariana Martos Yamashita is a Case Manager at the CIESP/FIESP Chamber of Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration. She has an LL.B. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná. Mariana is also the Vice-President of the Young Arbitration Practitioners Committee of CBMA (CJA/CBMA), a member of the New Voices Council of the CIESP/FIESP Chamber, and an organizer of the CoDiTech Moot, a competition focused on arbitration and technology.

  • Anne Wang

    Anne Wang is an Australian qualified disputes lawyer, currently working towards qualification as a barrister in England and Wales. She holds a Bachelor of Arts/Law from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford.

    Anne was an Associate at Sydney Arbitration Chambers where she acted as tribunal secretary in complex international commercial and investor-state arbitrations. She also worked as a Deputy Counsel at the ICC in Hong Kong, administering over a hundred arbitrations principally relating to the Asia-Pacific or Middle East. Anne has also gained experience at law firms in Sydney and London, and interned at UNCITRAL.

    Anne is a former Vis mootie, having taken part in the 27th Vis Moot as part of the Stockholm University team while undertaking an LLB exchange. This is her fifth year of involvement in the MAA, including serving on the Executive Board for two terms.

  • Vanshika Maan

    Vanshika Maan is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team at S&A Law Offices, where she focuses on arbitration and commercial litigation. A graduate of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, Vanshika has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to international dispute resolution. She earned an Honourable Mention for Best Advocate at the FDI International Arbitration Moot 2024 in Berlin, where her team ranked 5th globally in oral pleadings and 19th overall.

    She is also the Founder of ConfabulArb, a platform dedicated to making arbitration more accessible for students and young professionals. She served as a member of the Mentor-Mentee Team during the previous MAA Core Team term.

  • Marwa Aloui

    Marwa Aloui is a PhD candidate in Private Law at the University of Tunis El Manar, and a legal researcher and corporate practitioner with experience in International Business Law, Arbitration, IP, and Comparative Private International Law, particularly in the MENA region. She has contributed to international and regional legal projects and has organized events related to international arbitration and international law. In 2021, she founded a university club to promote the Vis Moot culture and awareness in Tunisia. Marwa is a young member of several international arbitration and ADR institutions and a former mentee in the MAA Mentor-Mentee Programme (2021–22). Her work reflects a strong commitment to inclusive and cross-cultural approaches to legal reform and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on the MENA and African regions.

  • Smahane Barri

    Smahane is a trainee lawyer at a boutique firm in Florence, with a dedicated focus on international arbitration. She graduated from the School of Law of the University of Florence where she took part in the Vis Moot as a mootie, later returning as a coach. She has also participated in other international ADR competitions and completed a legal internship at a multinational tech company.

  • Priya Conrad

    Priya is currently in her final year of her LLB and BA (Global Politics and Policy) at Murdoch University in Western Australia. Priya competed in the 31st Vis Moot. She was nominated ‘Best Student Arbitrator’ at the 14th Budapest Pre-Moot and went on to arbitrate the grand final at that pre-moot competition. Priya served as an MAA Regional Representative in the previous MAA Core Team term.

  • Vitoria Kreutz Werle

    Vitória is a Brazilian-qualified attorney based in São Paulo. She regularly acts as tribunal secretary in domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings. She graduated summa cum laude from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and is an alumna of Roma Tre University.

    Vitória is Senior Editor at Arbipedia, a research database on commercial arbitration in Brazil. She was an oralist at the 27th and the 28th editions of the Vis Moot and the 21st Vis East Moot, in which she reached the Round of 8. She also coached in the 32nd Vis Moot and her team reached the Round of 32.

    Vitória joined the MAA Core Team in 2022 and in 2024 took the leadership of the Regional Representatives Team.

  • Mariana Antonovych

    Mariana has over seven years of experience in arbitration, gained at leading Ukrainian and international law firms. She participated in the 20th edition of the Vis Moot, and the upcoming moot season will mark her eighth year coaching teams from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in prestigious competitions such as Jessup, Telders, and Vis.

  • Sushma Bhandari

    Sushma Bhandari is a law graduate from Kathmandu School of Law, Nepal, specializing in Business and Trade Law. She has represented her institution in the 31st Vis Moot and the 20th Vis Moot East Moot, experiences that sparked her deep interest in arbitration and international commercial law.

    Currently, she works as a Legal Advisor for an internationally based tech company, where she contributes her expertise in cross-border legal matters.

  • Gifty Buertey

    Gifty Buertey is a student at the University of Ghana School of Law pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. She participated in the 31st Vis Moot as a member of the inaugural team of her university to the Vis. She subsequently served as a coach for the University of Ghana team in the 32nd Vis Moot.

    She has served as Co-Head of the External Competitions Committee of the University of Ghana Law Students’ Union, where she provided logistical support to international moot teams.

    Currently, she is a member of the Teams Coordination Committee at Africa in the Moot, an organization whose aim is to unlock the potential of students in African universities in the field of international commercial arbitration.

  • Alejandra Carolina Huaman Cabrera

    Carolina is the founder and current president of ARBITRI – Organization of National and International Arbitration. She did an internship at the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC). Carolina holds a position as a Coordinator of the Media Team in Arbitraje Alumni (AA) of the UBA Moot Competition organized by CIAR and is an arbitrator for the 2025 Edition. She has been a longstanding mootie, coach and arbitrator in international arbitration moot teams over the years, including Moot Madrid, Moot UBA, and the Vis Moot. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a specialization in European Business Law by the University of Lund. Carolina has attended both the American University Arbitration Summer School and the Paris Arbitration Academy, with their respective scholarships. Recently, she has helped with the edition of the Guide on the Law Applicable to International Investment Arbitration, published by the Organization of the American States (OEA) on its 104th session.

  • Mevlüt Ali Deveci

    Mevlüt Ali Deveci is a senior student at Istanbul University, double majoring in Law and Business Administration. Before joining the MAA Core Team in 2024 in the Media Team, he participated in the 31st Vis Moot and his team was awarded an Honourable Mention for Best Team Orals. While continuing his bachelors education, he has completed four different internships in law firms in Turkey and Germany focused on international commercial law, investment law and corporate law.

  • Betty Elikwu

    Betty Elikwu is the Vice President of the University of Lagos ADR Society and a Senior Associate Editor at the University of Lagos Law Review. She serves as Team Coordinator at Africa in the Moot, a non-profit supporting African students and universities in arbitration and international commercial law.

    In 2022, she was part of the first-ever West African team to win the African Regional Rounds of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) International Arbitration Moot. In 2023, she was first runner-up at the Alfred Deakin International Commercial Arbitration Moot and won the Stren and Blan National Arbitration Essay and Debate Competition.

    In 2024, she won the East African Pre-Moot, was part of the first West African team to reach the Round of 64 at the Vis Moot, and part of the first all-female team to win the National Tax Debate. That year, she coached the University of Lagos FDI Moot team to third place in Africa, with one oralist named second best in Africa, and also coached the team to first runner-up at the National Arbitration Moot organized by Lagos State University.

    She has interned at Africa Law Practice NG & Co, Olawoyin & Olawoyin, and the Lex Lata Centre for International Law and Comparative Constitutionalism in Africa. In 2024, she competed in the Jessup Moot, reaching the elimination rounds of the Nigerian rounds.

  • Megan Fanning

    Megan Fanning is a Construction & Engineering disputes solicitor in Dublin, Ireland.

    She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She partook in the Vis Moot twice, first in 2019 (University College Dublin) and again in 2020 (City University of Hong Kong). She has arbitrated at the Vis since 2021 and has coached also (University College Dublin and the Law Society of Ireland teams).

  • Mariam Jikia

    Ms. Mariam Jikia holds an LL.B. from Free University of Tbilisi, where she also minored in Business Administration and Finance. She currently works as a lawyer at the investment banking and brokerage company JSC Galt and Taggart and serves as an academic assistant at Free University of Tbilisi for the course in Family and Succession Law. Ms. Jikia was a participant (oralist) in the 30th Vis Moot and later coached Free University’s team for the 32nd Vis Moot. During her undergraduate studies, she also participated in the Central and Eastern Europe Moot Competition and the Jean-Pictet Competition, receiving Best Speaker awards in both.

  • Javiera Maslov

    Javiera Miranda is a Chilean lawyer who works as a litigator and arbitration counsel in Santiago. She was part of the first team from the University of Chile to participate in the Vis Moot and has remained involved since then, coaching subsequent teams and, since 2024, serving as arbitrator in the general rounds in Vienna. She also competed in the International Arbitration Moot (CIArbitraje), organized by the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Universidad del Rosario, where she now participates as an arbitrator.

  • Srijan Mishra

    Srijan Mishra is an India-based lawyer and Assistant Professor at Amity Law School, Amity University, Lucknow Campus. He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law University, Assam, India, an LL.M. (Gold Medalist) from National Law University, Nagpur, India, and a Ph.D. in Law.

    A passionate mootie and mentor, he has coached teams for prestigious international competitions including the Vis Moot, the FDI Moot, and the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He also participated in the 25th Vis Moot as an Oralist.

    Dr. Mishra is the Founder and President of the International Forum for Advocacy and Mooting (IFAM), an initiative focused on enhancing advocacy and mooting skills among law students. He actively engages in legal consultancy and remains committed to advancing legal education through mentorship and training.

  • Mariam Nour

    Mariam is a corporate lawyer currently undertaking studies for the SQE in the United Kingdom. She holds an LLB from the Faculty of Law, English Section, Ain Shams University. Mariam has a strong passion for arbitration. Her experience in moot competitions includes four years with the Vis Moot, where she served twice as an oralist, once as an arbitrator, and once as both a coach and an arbitrator. She also participated in the Shalakany Arbitration Moot (SAM) and the FDI Moot, and is currently serving as an arbitrator for the FDI Moot. Believing that mooting is a life-changing experience, Mariam is currently on the Board of Advisors of the Boston International Innovation Moot, where she is devoted to supporting law students in accessing this opportunity and unlocking their passion within the legal field.

  • Aaron Tan

    Aaron Tan is an associate at HFW Singapore, specializing in arbitration, general disputes, commodities, and technology law. He has experience in arbitration cases under SIAC, ICC, and LCIA rules, achieving successful outcomes in complex matters, including expedited procedures and disputes in shipping, commodities, and carbon markets. Aaron has also assisted and advised on AI regulation and technology bylaws. Passionate about the intersection of law and technology, he is a frequent speaker at technology and AI-related events, sharing insights on the future of legal technology and its impact on the industry.

  • Leanne Marie Torrato

    Leanne Marie Torrato is a Philippine-qualified lawyer currently working for the Government of the Republic of the Philippines under the Department of Justice – Office of the Government Corporate Counsel. She earned a Master of Laws in International Dispute Resolution from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin in Germany. Her professional background includes experience as a law firm associate specializing in dispute resolution, as well as in-house counsel work in the area of law and technology. She is currently in my second term as a member of the Regional Representatives Team.

  • Kavya Veerla

    Kavya is an LLM candidate at King’s College London, specialising in international business law and dispute resolution. She was an active mootie throughout her undergraduate degree in India, and competed in the Vis Moot 2023 as an oralist. Her academic interests also include public international law and international litigation.

  • Alexandra Witting

    Alexandra Witting is a lawyer in the Competition, Consumer and Regulatory Team at Allens, a leading Australian commercial law firm. Alexandra recently graduated from the University of New South Wales with First Class Honours. In the 31st Vis Moot in 2024, she earned an Honourable Mention for the Martin Domke Best Individual Oralist Award, and participated in pre-moots across Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Brussels, Paris, Belgrade and Budapest. Alexandra has grown in the profession under the guidance of several mentors, and is passionate about reciprocating collegiality in the legal community through teaching, mentoring, and judging student competitions.

  • Julian Juhasz

    Dr. Julian Juhasz is currently working as a Junior Associate at Bär & Karrer in Zurich, Switzerland. He completed his PhD at the University of Basel in Switzerland, graduating with a thesis on “Framework agreements regarding the international supply of goods and the CISG”. Prior to this, he studied law at the University of Basel.

    Julian has been a member of the MAA Core Team since 2023. He participated in the 24th Vis Moot as well as the 14th Vis East Moot, and coached his university’s teams for the 28th Vis Moot.

  • Shu Zhang

    Dr. Shu Zhang is a Senior Lecturer in commercial law at Deakin Law School, Deakin University (Australia). Prior to joining Deakin Law School, Dr. Zhang was a postdoctoral fellow in the Chinese International Business and Economic Law Initiative, Law School, University of New South Wales (Australia). Her research interests include international commercial law, dispute resolution and international arbitration, as well as comparative contract law. She is also admitted to practice in New South Wales, Australia. Dr. Zhang obtained her Ph.D. in Law from University of New South Wales (Australia), and her LLM, LLB and BA in Economics (Double Degree) from Peking University (China). She has published various manuscripts with leading journals.

  • Marco Bottin

    Marco has been involved with the Vis Moot since 2020, when he founded the team that is now regularly representing the University of Padua (Italy). He participated at the 28th Vis Moot, winning an award for Best Memorandum at the AIAC Pre-Moot. He took part as an Observer at the 59th Session of the UNCITRAL Working Group V for the MAA.

  • Adrian Manuel König

    Adrian is a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart, a doctoral candidate at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany, and is writing his doctoral thesis on the efficacy of declarations of intent. At the same time, he is a research assistant at the chair of Prof Dr Stefan Huber, LL.M. (Köln/Paris). He has supervised the Vis Moot team of the University of Tübingen for seven years and took part in the competition himself in 2016/2017.

  • Inma Conde

    Inma Conde is a former Vis Moot participant and an international lawyer with a background in both civil and common law systems. She currently serves at the Office of International Law within the Australian Attorney-General’s Department and is also a Casual Lecturer and PhD Candidate at the University of Sydney. Her doctoral research focuses on comparative law, international commercial law, and the interpretation of uniform legal instruments. She is supported by the RTP, WA Cooke, Jane Cooke, and Alfred Godfrey Scholarships, as well as the Francis Forbes Fund Grant. Inma also serves as Secretary of the Australian UNCITRAL Coordination Committee (UNCCA). Fluent in English, Spanish, French, and German, she brings a multicultural perspective that enriches her contributions to the discourse on international legal matters.

    Lorenzo Galan is a Brazilian-qualified lawyer based in São Paulo. He regularly acts as tribunal secretary in domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings. He is senior editor at Arbipedia, a research database on commercial arbitration in Brazil. He graduated summa cum laude from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.

    Lorenzo has been involved with the Vis Moot since 2019. He is a former mootie and coach for the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul’s team. He was an oralist at the 28th Vis Moot and the 21st Vis East Moot (Round of 8). He coached the university’s team in the 32nd Vis Moot (Round of 32).

  • Felicia Komala

    Felicia Komala is an Indonesia-qualified lawyer with four years of experience advising on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and general corporate matters. She recently completed her LL.M. at Stanford Law School, specializing in International Economic Law, Business, and Policy. At Stanford, she served as an Associate Editor of the Stanford Law & Policy Review, where she contributed to editorial review, cite-checking, and the development of legal scholarship. Felicia is a former Vis East Moot competitor and has remained engaged in the moot court community. She served as President of the Community of International Moot Court during her undergraduate studies at Universitas Gadjah Mada and continues to support Indonesian teams preparing for international competitions. Her combined background in legal practice, academic research, and advocacy reflects a strong commitment to legal excellence and cross-border collaboration.

  • Sara Louk Middlehok

    Louk Middelhoek studied law at Humboldt-University of Berlin. There, she became involved with the Vis Moot in 2020 when participating in the 28th/18th endition of the competition and later coached the team for the 30th/20th Vis Moot. In 2023-2024, she stayed connected to the Vis Moot serving as a technical editor for the Vindobona Journal of International Commercial Law and Arbitration.

    Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in Private International and International Procedural Law under the guidance of Professor Dr. Giesela Rühl, LL.M. (Berkeley) in the context of a doctoral program funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

  • Se Won Park

    Se Won participated in the 29th and 30th Vis Moots as a selected competitor and as a student coach for the Cardozo Law School Team. She currently remains an active member of MAA, having joined the Vindobona Journal as Editor in 2024. In her professional career, she is an Associate at Hourani & Partners located in Dubai, UAE as an International Disputes attorney.

  • Pavan Swamy

    Pavan is Legal Counsel at a publicly listed company in Australia. He is an Associate Teaching Fellow & Vis Moot coach at Deakin Law School. Pavan is also a Director of Africa in the Moot. Pavan started his legal career at MinterEllison in the Competition, Climate and Technology practice group. During this time, he also acted as a pro bono lawyer at Justice Connect (Homeless Law Clinic).

    Pavan participated in the 25th Vis Moot and, since then, has actively participated in subsequent editions in various capacities.

    Prior to pursuing his legal career, Pavan worked at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne (RCH) as a Senior EMR Analyst where he sat on a number of committees, advisory groups, and working groups.

    Pavan holds a first class LLB (Hons) (Deakin), B.Biomed (Neuroscience) (Melbourne), and GDLP (College of Law).
